Due chitarre: quella di Nelly von Alven, a sei corde e quella di Luiz Mantovani, a otto corde (chitarra Brahms) che creano delle sonorità così articolate e inaspettate da far sì che questo CD sembri composto da orchestre di fili di seta: più che moderne, più che orientali, persino più che caleidoscopiche!
Nova Guitar Duo, dunque, offre un impasto timbrico di splendore e mistero davvero entusiasmante. E gli arrangiamenti, notevoli, dimostrano la perizia e la competenza dei due intelligenti artisti. Nelle scelte troviamo Bartók e Janáček trascritti in modo eccellente e una prima incisione assoluta di Lior Navok, autore israeliano, scritta appositamente per il Duo, il cui titolo – Sarigim – rende, nella traduzione dall’ebraico, perfettamente l’avvolgersi di corde in danze sconosciute: tessuti, viticci intrecciati. And the remarkable arrangements demonstrate the expertise and competence of the two intelligent artists. The choices include Bartók and Janáček, excellently transcribed, and a world premiere recording by Lior Navok, an Israeli composer, written especially for the Duo, whose title - Sarigim - perfectly renders, in translation from the Hebrew, the winding of strings in unknown dances: woven, interwoven tendrils. The acoustic effects of this CD are an exploration of the still existing possibilities of the unknown of acoustic sound magic!
